Joe is one of the founders and principals of Medallion Insurance Services who established the agency in 2003. He graduated from New York University in 1995 and started his financial services/insurance career with New York Life Investment Management in 1996. He moved to the Charlotte area in 2000 after being promoted to VP of Sales for the North & South Carolina territory. In the beginning of 2003 his entrepreneurial spirit kicked in when he noticed the opportunities that the insurance industry could provide and the need for a fresh way to provide insurance services to the public. With the help of his partners, Medallion Insurance Services was born in Historic Downtown Waxhaw. Joe is involved in the day-to-day operations of the agency and serves both personal and commercial clients.

Bryan Urichich

Agency Partner

Professional Liability & Commercial Lines

Bryan joined the agency to enhance its focus on the specialized needs of commercial insurance clients in North Carolina and six surrounding states. His appreciation of insurance and asset protection stems from five plus years with State Farm Insurance in an agency management support /training role and an agency staff position. Before transitioning to his commercial insurance specialty he had been in the banking and investment industry for ten plus years starting with general retail banking in the beginning to working with high net worth clients in the last role. Being involved in the financial needs of clients such as simple lending arrangements to retirement planning has developed an understanding of how important insurance is and where it fits in the asset protection role.

   Nico’s vast experience enables him to effectively understand and analyze customers' exposures to loss and to design insurance programs which will accurately address them.

Through an extensive array of interests, he brings to the agency a remarkably broad knowledge of people and businesses in the region. David is an agency partner with Medallion Insurance and specializes in the life and disability insurance lines for primarily business owners. He is also a managing partner of Berkeley Wealth Professionals, LLC which is headquartered in Charlotte, NC. His background includes extensive work in the areas of insurance and investment solutions for primarily business owners. Prior to his ownership and operating interest in Medallion Insurance and Berkeley Wealth, David's career experience included working for several national investment and insurance companies such as National Finance, John Hancock, AG Edwards & Sons and Raymond James.

John Rissanen
Agency Partner

     John has more than two decades of operational and management experience and has been a licensed insurance agent and broker since 1983.  He has built a loyal book of business with diverse clients through his dedication to building long term relationships of trust, professionalism and friendship. John developed a sharp eye at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University as to how businesses get bloated with inefficiencies, cross-purposes and miscommunication – and how they can retool for a sleeker, smoother, strategically focused organization and how insurance plays a critical part in this. By surrounding himself with insurance experts, John empathetically helps other business owners implement proper insurance strategies, set priorities and create the balance they want between life and work.
